RJ Shannon RJ Shannon is a Chicago transplant, having moved to Phoenix in 1981. She spent the last 30 years working in the areas of social justice and human rights working with gang members, survivors of violence, individuals living with HIV while advocating for diversity and inclusion in all areas of human services, public and private domains and policies impacting families, neighborhoods and communities. RJ has served on numerous boards and committees including the ACLU, the Phoenix Human Relations Commission, Aunt Rita’s Foundation, and Release the Fear, just to name a few. She worked as the Minority AIDS Community Liaison for 15 years for the State Health Department and currently serves as the program manager for Native Health’s inHarmony Circle of Care Integrated HIV/HCV services. Over the years, RJ developed trainings focused on HIV and other Sexual Health Disparities, Cultural Responsiveness, and Violence Prevention. Mantra: Do No Harm to thyself or others.
